Tips for Selling

*curb appeal - Consider a fresh coat of paint on the front door.  A clean de-cluttered porch sends the message that this property is well taken care of.  Fresh mulch and a bit of color to the flower beds is very inviting.

*lighten and brighten - Open blinds and drapes to bring the outside in.  Turn on overhead lights and lamps to chase away dark corners and show off your space.

*clean and de-clutter - Kitchen and bathrooms must pass the squeaky clean test!  Potential buyers need to envision themselves living in these rooms.  Clear countertops as much as possible.  This is a good time to organize and clean out pantries to show off good storage.  De-personalize by packing away family photos and collections.  Reduce your accessories and bookshelves by at least 50%!

*furniture flow - Make sure your furniture placement provides a nice traffic flow.  Consider storing some of your furniture.  Even large rooms appear small if you have wall to wall furniture.

*fresh as a daisy - Ask a good friend to tell you if your home smells like your pets or is musty.  This can have a very negative impact.  Cut flowers, even a small vase, sends a nice message of springtime freshness and life.
